About The Firm

We exist because good leadership deserves better counsel

Most institutions have capable leaders. What they often lack is access to counsel that is genuinely independent — free from internal hierarchy, political proximity, and the constraints of the management relationship. Decisions get made in that gap. Some are sound. Many are not.

The Colmar Group was founded to close that gap. The firm is Grenada-based, operating across the Caribbean and beyond, with a practice built on the understanding that the quality of counsel available to leaders in this region must be equal to the complexity of what they face.

We do not implement. We do not manage. We do not produce reports for the shelf. Every engagement is advisory in nature, fixed in scope, and built around the specific realities of the institution — because that is the only level at which counsel of this kind is worth having.

Founder & Principal Consultant

The Colmar Group Ltd. was founded by Ambassador Yolande Y. Smith — a diplomat, senior strategic advisor, and organizational leader with extensive experience across international relations, governance, and executive leadership.

Over the course of her career, Ambassador Smith has worked alongside senior leaders navigating high-consequence decisions in complex, high-visibility environments — across multilateral institutions, public administration, and the private sector. That experience is the foundation of the firm's advisory practice: a clear-eyed understanding of what leadership at the top of an institution actually demands, and what it takes to meet that demand with integrity.

Her work is defined by professional discretion, institutional respect, and an unwavering commitment to the standard of leadership that the Caribbean region deserves.
